Organic barley produces the ultimate natural quality, flavoursome malt with natural characteristics unlike any other.

Sown the traditional way, without any added mineral fertiliser or fungicides, the crop is allowed to grow and is only influenced by the weather, the local environment and natural nutrients in the soil.

It does, however, have a lower yield in comparison to non-organic barley, but this only serves to further promote organic barley as a truly rare and sought-after ingredient. Smaller designated craft malt batches are malted in our Boby Malting plant, which is organically approved by IOFGA. We only add water, heat and air, with time taking care of the rest.
